Chuck Baldwin Speech at Pensacola Civic Center

This is my first time to meet Jim and Tricia. I have not met them before and in fact, I’m here more or less as a newcomer to your whole program. I’m not really familiar with it. One of my parishioners who is here tonight, Brian Barnett, has been a faithful disciple of your program for some time and he has spoken very highly of you and the program, has kind of introduced me to what you are doing. I thank you very much for that Brian, and letting me be here tonight just to speak in front of these people is a real honor and privilege. Thank you very much for that!

What I’m concerned about is that here in this great country of ours we are quickly losing the freedoms and the liberties that we have enjoyed for all these years and without freedom and without liberty this ministry would not be able to continue. Everything that we have been able to do in ministry, whether it’s Cross Roads Baptist Church, Chuck Baldwin Live, or anything else that I have been involved in whether it’s radio or whether it’s my syndicated columns, no matter what it is that we are doing, we are broadcasting over the internet and we are getting ready to go live streaming in our services and we are reaching thousands of people nationwide, we are already reaching many of these people with video and the internet access. None of that would happen without the freedom of liberty that has been decreed to us by our founding fathers.

There was no question that there was afoot today a movement that is deliberately trying to strip Americans of the freedoms and liberties that we have enjoyed. This is the thing that has caused me to get involved in the political process, this is why I first started broadcasting Chuck Baldwin Live back in the early 1990’s, it is why I started writing my syndicated column and it is why I ran for President on the Constitution Party ticket in 2008. It is because, without freedom and without liberty the message that we all hold dear, the message of hope, the message of health, that message of Christ, that message of Salvation, the messages that we all hold dear would not be able to be broadcast in our country except that we have a Constitution in this Nation that guarantees the right of religious freedom, and the right of speech, etc. for every American, including Jim and Tricia.

The problem is that if you are outside the bounds of ‘normalcy’, if you are outside of the box that has been established by whatever the establishment may happen to be whether it is medicine, media, politics, the two party system (if you are not a republican or not a democrat) you are not invited to the party. Believe me, I can tell you that because I have been there. I know what it’s like to not be invited to the party. I know what it’s like to be exempted from the basic forums that are afforded the two major party candidates. People think that we have free and fair elections in this country and I am here to tell you, we don’t have free and fair elections in America today. If you are not a Democrat or if you are not Republican you don’t get to participate. You are not allowed to participate in the debates and you are not allowed to participate in the forums, you are shut out of the process. Why? Because the two big box parties are for all intensive purposes, as Pat Buchanan said so many years ago, “two wings of the same bird of prey”. You are not getting two different messages, you are not getting two different parties, you are getting two different versions of the same message, two versions of the same party, and because they have a monopoly on the media, a monopoly on the journalist, a monopoly on the free access of ideas through the various forums of this country, the third party candidates are not allowed to participate. That’s why you say “Well I’m going to vote for Chuck Baldwin for President” last November and they go “Who?”

“A constitution party candidate.”

“What’s that?”

The fact of the matter is, we were on more than enough state ballots to be able to theoretically get the 270 electoral votes that were required by the Constitution to become President and as such, we were one of only five individuals in the whole country that were qualified. Those individuals were, John McCain, Barack Obama, Ralph Nadar, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin. Those were it; those were the five candidates that were theoretically qualified to gain the 270 electoral votes, which means all five of us should have had an opportunity to participate in a free and fair debate in front of the American people. We earned the right to be heard by the American people, we earned the right to get our ideas and our philosophies to the American people. They had a right to hear us, if they didn’t want us that’s fine, if they wanted to reject our message so be it that’s a part of freedom but, they had the right to hear us and we had the right to be heard.

Guess what, we were not allowed to participate in the process. We were not allowed to give the American people our message of freedom, our message of constitutional Government, and very much the same way that the elites do not want Jim and Tricia to be able to get their message to the American people.

Just what I have heard in my very brief exposure to this ministry, just from what I have heard, if the vast majority of the American people had an opportunity to hear this message you would not be holding this meeting in this little room, you would be holding this meeting upstairs in the big auditorium because that is how many people would come to hear the message but, why aren’t they here? It is because they are blocked out of the message and that’s the way it is in every venue in every area and until the American people wake up and realize that they are being manipulated, that they have people that are in control of the information that people are being exposed to and that they are being shut out of the truth. . .until we recognize that and begin to seek the truth for ourselves, which is what you are doing because you are here, we are not going to gain any ground in this country.

People say, “You are a Pastor, you shouldn’t be involved in politics.” Let me tell you something, when I was ordained to the gospel ministry I did not surrender my U.S. Citizenship. I am still a citizen of this state and of this country and I have every right to participate in the political process as does anyone else. In fact, if you go back to the early days of Colonial America you’ll find that it was the pastors who were the predominant movers and shakers in the early political movements of our country including our War for Independence. We would not even be here as a free and independent country if it were not for the courageous champions in the pulpits of Colonial America over 200 years ago. It’s always been the religious leaders that have led the fight for the moral and spiritual causes of freedom and liberty in this country and the reason we are in the mess we are in today quite frankly is because the pastors and preachers of America are not willing to get up on their hind legs and tell their people the truth and until we are willing to do that it’s going to be more of the same.

I thank God for what you are doing and I am anxious to learn more about what you offer, your products and so forth and if I could get rid of all my ailments and aches and pains I’m all for it. I know this much, I’m smart enough to know that The American Medical Association is not telling us everything we need to know. I know that for a fact. I am all for people that are willing to help their fellowman, and to have come across that information which is so needful, and it sounds to me like you have a quality program here that is obviously helping many people. I am very thankful for that and thank you for letting me come and participate in your conference. I am delighted that you would let me share a few minutes with your friends. Thank you very much for what you are doing and what you are trying to do for America.

Let’s keep each other in prayer, amen, let’s support one another, let’s help one another, let’s help people that are in the fight for right, let’s help people who are on the front lines and trying to stand for freedoms and the constitutional government. Don’t shy away from people that may be considered to be a little outside of the mainstream, because the truth of the matter is the main stream is nothing to brag about anymore, that’s for sure!
